MyMagic+ Transforming Walt Disney World Experience for Guests

The Walt Disney World Resort is continuing the “test and adjust” phase of MyMagic+ but guests have been able to take advantage of some changes brought about by MyMagic+.

The MyMagic+ system allows guests to design their vacation by personalizing everything from in-park experiences, dining reservations, and more.

The centerpiece for the MyMagic+ experience is the MagicBand. These are the high tech, colorful wristbands that serve as an all-in-one room key, park ticket, and optional payment system.

Guests also use the MagicBand as their FastPass+ access, and the bands are connected to PhotoPass+. The MagicBands are waterproof and hypoallergenic and come in seven colors.

Part of the new MyMagic+ experience is the FastPass+ system. This new FastPass systems allows guests to select up to three FastPass+ experiences at one park per day. The menu for available attractions is double what the old FastPass system allowed, and guests can choose a date and time for their FastPass+.

The system also works for Disney character meet and greets, in addition to fireworks and parade viewing areas. If guests are unsure about what FastPass+ attractions to choose, a cast member can suggest the FastPicks, which is a set of three FastPass+ selections to get them started.

If a guest has not made a reservation for FastPass+ prior to arriving at a park they can visit the FastPass+ kiosks at the theme parks and make their selections.

Guests can use the MyDisneyExperience.com mobile app and website to plan their vacation at home and make changes on the go in the parks. The app features tools that give guests the ability to scheduled FastPass+ reservations and dining reservations in advance or on the day of their visit.
